Multi-hued butterflies flutter amid lush peaches and flowers in full bloom on this exquisitely hand painted vase. Inspired by a 19th century porcelain "genie bottle" in PEM's Asian Export Art Collection, this elegant piece will add a dash of color to any room. The "genie bottle," a piece from a lady's toiletry set, is Chinese porcelain specifically made for export to the West. During the 19th century, ships sailed from the busy port of Salem with merchants seeking the teas, silks and porcelains produced in far away China. The fine goods brought back from these ventures graced the homes of Salem's wealthiest residents.

Our vase is perfect for holding a bouquet of fresh flowers on a dining table or dresser top. With its exquisite look of Chinese export porcelain, this piece is a lovely accent for your home décor.
